REVIEW: KEZBAN MEDITERRANEAN RESTAURANT
K
Kick-start your evening with a meal and drink at Kezban Mediterranean
Restaurant, on Commercial Street, Leith.

E Embrace
the genuine good humour and
hospitality of the waiting staff as they guide you through an extensive Mediterranean
inspired Menu.

Z
Zorba the Greek would not be disappointed with the sharing banquet of
cold mezes to start and he would positively rhapsodise about the hot variations
on offer.
The Falafels – deep fried broad bean and chickpea patties with fresh herbs and the Sigara Boregi filo pastry parcels filled with feta cheese and parsley. Kezban's homemade Turkish Bread. |
B
Bring your imagination to the table and you can picture yourself in a
Taverna on the Med. Décor and furniture is derivative and colourful. Turkish
artefacts and lighting transport you out of Leith and into a pleasingly
different world.

A Attention
to detail evident in our choice of main courses suggest that owners are
determined to stay true to their principles. The Sebze Kebab with rice is
delicious – made of perfectly cooked fresh vegetables including onions,
peppers, mushrooms, aubergine and tomatoes in a tomato-based sauce.

N Negativity
is a trait often applied to a Kezban, in mythology a woman of limited beauty,
but, blessed with an oversized ego. This little Bistro is the polar opposite - dressed
up gracefully and deserving of admiring glances. It struts its stuff modestly
but is confident in its own skin. Go have a peek.
